Target industry Photovoltaics: automated module production
The industrial manufacturing process of (thin film) solar modules consists of several complex partial stages. Apart from cleaning and coating processes, several materials are deposited on the glass in chemical reactions (PECVD) and are subjected to structuring processes. During these processes, a large number of parameters affect the quality of the end product – and consequently its sales value. Hence, it is required to reassign both, process parameters and end product.
boraident Ion Transfer Marking technologies set individual markings on each product and adapted Identification Systems allow reliable identification and decoding of the marking – from the manufacturing process to the installation of the module - with the following purposes:
- process control and optimizing the quality management,
- product traceability throughout the whole life cycle
- product branding,
- theft protection and
- protection against plagiarism.
boraident Marking and Identification Systems are used in the following PV applications
- crystalline silicone PV modules with white and black tedlar
- silicone thin film PV modules (amorph, micromorph, tandem)
- CIGS thin film PV modules
- CdTe thin film PV modules
